
Tottenham expect to complete a deal to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa despite Chelseas attempts to hijack the move, reports claim.

However, Spurs themselves feel they are close to agreeing a deal with Aston Villa and are confident of getting the deal over the line before Thursdays transfer deadline, according to The Evening Standard.
The report claims Villa are likely to reject an opening bid from Spurs expected to be around the £20m mark, but Daniel Levy is confident he can negotiate a deal before the deadline.

Tottenham have been monitoring the progress of Grealish for months and the player himself has indicated that he wants Villa to sanction his move to north London.
Grealish is expecting the deal to be finalised in the coming days, at which point he would become Tottenhams first signing of the window.

Elsewhere, defenders Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose, as well as midfielder Mousa Dembele, are all expected to leave Spurs before the end of the window, with moves overseas most likely.
Mauricio Pochettino has also deemed strikers Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen as surplus to requirements and both are also transfer listed.
