Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has told the clubs board to prioritise a move for Barcelona star Yerry Mina.
The 23-year-old impressed at the World Cup with Colombia, scoring three times from centre-back in Russia.
Mina joined Barcelona in January from Palmeiras for £10m but made just six appearances and the La Liga giants are looking to cash in after spending big on Malcom and Arthur.
United held talks with Tottenham at the end of last season to sign Toby Alderweireld but baulked at Spurs £75m valuation of the Belgium international.
Mourinho identified Leicester City ace Harry Maguire as an alternative but the Foxes were looking for a similar fee to the £75m that Liverpool paid Southampton for Virgil van Dijk in January.

Thats forced the club into searching for cheaper alternatives and Mina is available for around £40m, according to Yahoo.

The report claims United have been scouting Mina for two years and Mourinho would rather sign the Colombian than meet Leicesters valuation of Maguire.
Mourinho has voiced his displeasure at the clubs lack of signings this summer and says he fears the start of the season without many of those who were involved in the latter stages of the World Cup.
Everton had been keen on Mina but the Colombians move to Old Trafford would allow United to let Marcos Rojo join the Toffees instead.
The Red Devils hope to raise around £30m by selling the defender that they bought from Sporting Lisbon for £16m in 2014.
However, Marco Silvas men could struggle to meet Rojos wage demands given hes on a salary of £70,000-a-week at the Theatre of Dreams.
