Jurgen Klopp has admitted he has changed his mind with regards to expensive transfers.
When £100 million figures were suggested for Paul Pogbas transfer to Manchester United back in 2016, Klopp was outspoken with his opinion of the deal, stating: The day that this is football, Im not in a job anymore.
However, fast forward to today and Klopps implementing a similar strategy to the way he operates his own transfers, signing Alisson for a world-record deal for a goalkeeper at £67 million.
Along with Alissons arrival, £53 million has also been spent on signing Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, an expensive approach that Klopp recognises is different to his opinion from 2016.

Did I change my opinion? Yes, Klopp explained. Its better to change your opinion than not have one at all. Thats a problem, whatever bull**** you say, no one will forget it.
Its still kind of true. I couldnt have imagined the world could have changed. £100m was a crazy number but since then the world changed.
We signed the most expensive goalkeeper [Alisson], bam bam, there will be a few nice transfers [by other clubs].
Its not about pushing through my thoughts on that and not paying big money, if LFC arent successful we have to work.

To improve a squad like this costs money. So far its a really good year for us, pretty successful last year, still we need to replace players – Emre Can left, good business bringing Fabinho in.
Shaqiri, we saw him play in the World Cup, I know Stoke were relegated but he had a lot of good games.
We dont care what the world thinks, like Manchester United didnt care what I thought [in 2016].
The first time we could see Klopps new signings – Keita and Alisson amongst others – in competitive action will be on August 12 against West Ham in the Premier League.
