England record goalscorer Wayne Rooney is believed to have agreed financial terms for a transfer to DC United, adding to pressure on Everton chiefs to decide the fate of manager Sam Allardyce.
Rooney is understood to have an offer on the table worth £12m over three years at Major League Soccers current bottom team which would see him move to the United States this summer.
But the 32-year-old is yet to accept the deal and could remain at Goodison Park – an outcome that would appear more likely should Allardyce leave the club instead.

Rooney has appeared frustrated with an increasingly peripheral role at Everton, having made a bright start to his second spell at the club by scoring 11 goals before Christmas.
His marginalisation has occurred under Allardyce, who has steered the club to Premier League safety since arriving in November yet faces an uncertain future amid supporter discontent.
The former England manager insisted last week that the Everton hierarchy wanted him to remain in charge, although that view is yet to be publicly endorsed by the club, who put relations under strain by polling fans on how satisfied they were with Allardyces performance.
Leading shareholder Farhad Moshiri is believed to be considering a summer overhaul that could include the arrival of PSV Eindhoven technical director Marcel Brands, threatening the position of Everton recruitment supremo Steve Walsh.

DC Uniteds overtures are said to have been led by co-owner Jason Levien, who also co-owns Swansea City, relegated from the Premier League this week.
The Washington outfit want Rooney on board by mid-July, when they are due to move to their new 20,000-capacity Audi Field stadium.
Rooneys potential move to MLS would see him follow former Manchester United colleagues Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger, of LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire respectively, across the Atlantic.
