Cornerback Nick Nelson was selected by the Oakland Raiders with the 10th pick of the fourth round (No. 110 overall).
Nelson transferred to Wisconsin before the 2016 season after spending his first two collegiate years at the University of Hawaii. He redshirted in 2016 but excelled on the field in 2017 with the Badgers, leading the nation with 21 pass breakups and compiling 35 tackles. Nelson also returned 24 punts for 206 yards (8.6 average) and a touchdown, his 50-yard return for a score during the Badgers 24-10 win over Michigan on Nov. 18.
Nelson joins an Oakland secondary that allowed an average of 241.1 passing yards per game last season, which ranked 26th in the NFL.
