
Carlo Ancelotti, a leading contender to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, has been offered the job of Italian national team manager, according to reports.
The former Chelsea, AC Milan and Real Madrid manager was quickly installed as one of the favourites to become the new boss at the Emirates.
The 58-year-old has even indicated he would be interested.
I can say I would like to work again, but that depends on me, Ancelotti said. If I find the right possibility, the right project, I would be delighted to continue.

But the Arsenal hierarchy may have to move quickly after Sky Italy reported that the Italian FA had offered him the national team job.
Its claimed he met with the Italian Football Federation commissioner Roberto Fabbricini and sub-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta in Rome last night where, after a 90 minute meeting, he was formally offered the position.
Italy are seeking a new permanent manager after failing to qualify for this summers World Cup.
