Departing Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will receive an enormous severance package when he leaves the Gunners at the end of the season, according to reports.
The Frenchman announced on Friday that he would be bringing his 22-year reign at the north London club to an end after several underwhelming campaigns in recent seasons.
However, The Sun report that Wengers decision was not entirely voluntary and, despite agreeing to step down, he has in effect been sacked and will receive a full pay-off.
Arsenal have agreed to pay Wenger £11million – the equivalent of his final years salary – though the Frenchman is unhappy that he has been effectively forced to step aside.
It is not yet clear if the terms of Wengers pay-off will prevent him from taking another managerial role, though the 68-year-old is still keen to remain in the dugout with PSG and Monaco both linked already.

In a statement released on Friday, Wenger said: After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season.
I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years.
I managed the club with full commitment and integrity. I want to thank the staff, the players, the directors and the fans who make this club so special.
It has also been suggested that Wenger could move behind the scenes into a director of football role, perhaps at PSG, while Arsenal are already believed to be pressing ahead with the search for his successor.
