Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has hinted Thomas Lemar could leave this club this month as Arsenal prepare a fresh move for the France international.
The Gunners were close to a deal for Lemar on deadline day last summer but pulled the plug on the move at the last minute and blocked Alexis Sanchez‘s transfer to Manchester City.
Manchester City, though, have not dropped their interest in the Chilean and are confident of finalising a £30m move for him this week.
Arsenal want a replacement before they allow the former Barcelona man to leave and Lemar remains keen on moving to the Premier League.
And his boss, Jardim, has hinted that the Ligue 1 champions are ready to do business this month.
‘We do not typically sell players in the winter transfer window,’ Jardim said.
‘But the month is long and many things could happen.’
It’s believed Monaco value Lemar at around £92m and Arsenal will face competition from Liverpool to sign the winger.
The Reds have just bagged £107m from Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona and would be willing to match Arsenal’s salary offer.
However, Liverpool’s offer of around £75m for Lemar last summer was well short of Monaco’s valuation.
