The Echo that is on sale is the new version of the product – a shorter, more compact version available in a number of different fabric finishes as well as hard shell finishes that give it a more sophisticated design aesthetic than the first version had.
The fabric cover options include charcoal, sandstone and heather gray, while the hard shell finish comes in oak, walnut or silver.
Improved tech has brought better wake word processing (limits the chance of Alexa butting into your conversations), enhanced noise cancellation to hear commands more effectively from across the room and Dolby processing for a crisper sound.
