The teams behind boxers Anthony Joshua and New Zealander Joseph Parker both want to fight each other next, according to the Kiwi's promoter.

World heavyweight champion Joshua — who holds the IBF, WBA and IBO belts — and his promoter Eddie Hearn have announced their intentions to unify the division by taking the crowns from other world heavyweight title-holders Parker and American Deontay Wilder.

And after he dispatched Carlos Takam at Cardiff's Principality Stadium last month, Joshua is now being lined up for a meeting with WBO champion Parker according to his promoter David Higgins.

"Eddie Hearn and I have exchanged emails," said Higgins.

"My message was Joe would fight Joshua next and Hearn's message was that Joshua would fight Parker next.

"It's now a question of the deal and money."

On Twitter Higgins said he was hoping to negotiate a deal that would guarantee the two fighters a near-equal share of revenue.

Higgins said Parker could fight WBC champion Wilder next if no deal was agreed with Joshua's camp, but added that talks with the American's representatives had not been fruitful to date.

"They have put a figure on the table," he said.

"It wasn't enough. If they put the right amount of money on the table we will go to America to fight Wilder."

Yet Wilder, who won in emphatic fashion against Bermane Stiverne this weekend, appears determined to take-on Joshua and is prepared to travel to the UK to do so.

"Packing out stadiums looks good but the money and Mecca of boxing is in America," Wilder told the BBC.

"But if you want to stay at home like a little girl, this king has no problem travelling to knock out the champion."
