Jack Wilshere has dropped a major hint on Instagram that he is ready to close the book on his Arsenal career after failing to agree terms on a new contract with the Gunners.
The midfielder will become a free agent at the end of the month when his contract expires and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates.
The 26-year-old, who joined Arsenal as a schoolboy and has been at the club for over a decade, took to Instagram late on Wednesday night to give an insight into his current mood.
He wrote: There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book.
It had been previously reported that manager Unai Emery was keen to sign Wilshere up to a new deal, but the player himself wanted assurances over his role and game time.
Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey are both ahead of Wilshere in the pecking order at Arsenal, while the club are close to completing the £26m signing of Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria which would create even more competition.
